しげやま あきら。1952年6月12日生まれ。本名・晃。二世茂山千之丞の長男。
父および祖父三世茂山千作に師事。
3歳のとき『以呂波』のシテで初舞台を踏む。1975年『三番三』および『釣狐』、1994年『花子』を披く。2001年より狂言と新作落語のコラボレーション＜落言（らくげん）の会＞「お米とお豆腐」を結成し、全国津々浦々で活動中。その他オペラや新劇、パフォーマンスなどの企画・構成・演出なども手がけるマルチな舞台人間として日本中を飛び回っている。
また、千之丞のパイオニア精神を受け継ぎ、1981年に欧米の現代劇と日本の古典芸能を融合した「NOHO（能法）劇団」をジョナ・サルズと共に主宰。ベケットの不条理演劇、英語による海外公演も数多くこなし、国境も言葉もジャンルも飛び越えたワールドワイドな演劇活動を展開している。著書に「京都の罠」（KKベストセラーズ）がある。
第31回京都府文化賞功労賞受賞。
Akira Shigeyama
Kyogen artist of the Okura School. Born in Kyoto in 1952. Studied Kyogen as an apprentice of his father, Shigeyama Sennojo II and his grandfather, Shigeyama Sensaku Ⅲ.
Akira Shigeyama is the eldest son of Sennojo Shigeyama ll and appeared on stage for the first time when he was 3 years old.
He is a founder of “Rakugen”, featuring the collaboration between Kyogen and Rakugo and tours around the country. He also runs NOHO Theatre with Jonah Salz which mixes Western contemporary theatre with Japanese classical theatre. His cross-border/cross-language/cross-genre activities expand worldwide. Winner of the 31st Kyoto Prefecture Award for Cultural Merit.

1986年『魔法使いの弟子』（NOHO（能法）劇団）で初舞台を踏む。
2013年に自らが作・演出を手掛けるコント公演「ヒャクマンベン」、2014年には100年後の古典を目指す新作狂言の会「新作“純”狂言集マリコウジ」の両プロジェクトを始動。
2014年「釜ヶ崎芸術大学」の講師として狂言を指導し、横浜トリエンナーレの正式招待プログラムで新作狂言を上演。2015年東京芸術劇場、金沢歌劇座で上演のオペレッタ「メリーウィドウ」の脚本・演出を手掛ける。2016年には国際共同制作『三代目、りちゃあど』（オン・ケンセン演出）に出演、シェイクスピアを演じた。
語学に堪能でNHKテレビの語学番組「プレキソ英語」に“カウドージ”なるキャラクターでレギュラー出演していたほか、「バイリンガル狂言」や現代劇に役者として出演するなど表現者としての新境地を切り開いている。
2018年12月に三世茂山千之丞を襲名。2019年第37回京都府文化賞奨励賞を受賞。
Sennojyo Shigeyama
Kyogen artist of the Okura School. Born in Kyoto in 1983. Studied Kyogen as an apprentice of his father, Akira Shigeyama and his grandfather, Shigeyama Sennojo II.
First performed on stage in 1986 in the play “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” staged by his father Akira Shigeyama’s NOHO Gekidan company.
He studied at the Kyoto International School. In other wide-ranging activities he has used his English speaking skills in appearing regularly on the TV educational program “Purekiso English” and performs bailingual Kyogen which actors play in English and Japanese .
In 2013, he wrote and directed his first “Hyakumanben” conte piece, and in 2014 he began his “Shinsaku Jun-Kyogenshu Marikouji” performance group to present new Kyogen plays he writes. He also appears on modern plays while also works as a stage director.
He’s just taken over his grandfather’s actor name “Sennojo Ⅲ” in December 2018.
